Managing Conflicts
Managing conflict is often a major priority in organizations. Conflict occurs when there is a clash between members of a group or between individuals, which can interfere with the goals of an organization. Conflict can also be positive, however, as it can bring about needed organizational changes.
A manager or leader uses conflict resolution strategies to manage conflicts and to prevent them from becoming destructive to the organization. There are two strategies that managers and leaders frequently use when resolving conflict.

When attempting to resolve a conflict, a manager or leader should take several steps. The problem as identified should be described, acknowledging the position of each party involved.
