This template is intended to assist you in preparing a write-up of your Individual Case. It is only a guide and should be used as such.
The Case Study Write-up should include at a minimum the following sections with appropriate subheadings:
• Title Page
• Introduction: This section introduces the case study situation in an overview fashion.
• Specific Problem or Issue: Describe in specifics the problem, decision or issue that needs to be addressed.
• Background information: This section should describe the key facts surrounding the case study, e.g. key stakeholders in this case and how their interests are impacted by the problem, decision or issue, what is the context or place the case occurs if it is important, etc.
• Alternative solutions: Describe the alternative solutions that are available to the decision-maker(s).
• Evaluation and Analysis: Describe how you would analyze this case and what factors or decision criteria you would use to reach a recommendation.
• Recommendation: This section describes your preferred solution to address, avoid or mitigate the problem or issue and summarizes the key factors that helped you reach that decision.
• Action and Implementation: Identify and discuss any potential constraints or limitations you believe exist to implementing your recommended solution. Further, discuss how you might overcome those obstacles or limitations.
• Key Learning: Sum up the case and relate the key learning in this case as it reinforces and enhances your understanding of course concepts.
• Exhibits
• Footnotes
Make sure you proof-read your work, use spell-checker and grammar checking. If your case study write-up is not legible, it will not get any credit! This Case Study Write-up should not exceed 10 pages excluding exhibits or footnotes. This means your writing needs to be precise and meaningful.
