One of my goals in life istravel around the world. Looking the different view around the world. Thus, I was wondering people whom traveling for business or leisure reasons look for a home away from home when they travel. A competent staff, good food, and a secure and restful room can go a long way toward making people enjoy traveling, and lodging managers ensure all those things.
Require training
Many factors can qualify become a lodging manager, the requirement for a career as a lodging manager usually including a high school diploma and significant work experience. In some case, lager, full-service hotel require applicants to have a bachelor’s degree. However, fewer services associate degree may be enough. Moreover, 26 states including the districts of Columbia offer high school academic training for lodging managers. Usually, hotel management including instruction in hotel administration, accounting, marketing, housekeeping, food service management and catering, and hotel maintenance and engineering. Meanwhile, computer training is one of the part requirements, because hotels will use hospitality-specific software in reservations, billing, and housekeeping management. Strengths and Weaknesses
As far as I am concerned, lodging managers always was the person I always dream to be. When I was a little girl I love to travel with my parents, we stay all kind of hotel around the word. That’s the time, I stared to love stay with hotel. After growing up in a business family, my father have a lot of business trip all the time, thus, he have to stay hotel all the time. That’s other reason I want to help people like my father. I love to help people make them feel comfortable and happiness, that I knew I want to be a hotel lodging manager to help people have wonderful time during hotel. This career is the perfect fit for me because is a career in which I can improve my personality, communication skill and critical thinking to connect with all kinds of guest. Lodging manager is a job where I am able to enjoy different adventure during my life experience. As lodging managers, I want to use my passionand arrange skills to make every guest feel at home, even with better experience after they leave. I am positive sure I choose right career because I am excited go to hotel when they need me. I am also excited to offer warm service to my guest and have great relationship with them. The strengths I have that I can enhance my chance of gaining employment, as a lodging manager is that I have experience working in a real motel. Furthermore, I was working at a construction company and have experience inputting data and other Microsoft Office applications. Thus,I can easily classify all kind of information for hotel guest.Those experience and skills will acquire while working in lodging manager or other hotel filed, will lead me into an excellent lodging manager. I will combine everything I have learned throughout my lodging management career and apply become an experienced and professional lodging manager. Another strength that I can share with my guest is I have different language background; I can fluently speak, read and write Mandarin and Sichuan dialects. Meanwhile I have studied Korean and have continued to improve my English in the United Stated. I also can learn another language if necessary.In addition, I am pre-major of business management at San Diego State University and I expected graduation is on spring 2017. Before that I am plan to take. More strength that I have is I like goes ahead before time, because I don’t like late. I love to organization thing with plan, and set out earlier before work or meeting. Some weakness that I have is I only can focus one thing one time, which means when I working I only can pay my 100 percent attention on work, or I can say, no matter what thing happened out side world, only that thing related to work can get my attention. Same like that, when I out of work, my attrition attract thing I am interesting. All in all, I am trying to reasonable manages my emotion in many ways and transfer my weakness to strength. Lodging manager is a dream that I will never stop to make it become true. Working in hotel in thing I interesting and loving to do.With passion hard, hard work and kind of my strength, I believed I would be able to get a job as lodging manager.
