English is the world language – at least for the next five hundred years, or until the Martians arrive. Something like a quarter of the total population of the globe now speak, or are trying to learn, English – a proportion without precedent in the history of the world (p. 249).
Based on what you have learnt in this topic, do you agree with this statement? Why/why not?

Dear writer:
I am studying master of TESOL ,and this assignment for (ENGLISH AS A GLOBAL LANGUAGE COURSE).This is (unit 4: English today and into the future)
-I need 4 lines only for introduction.
-4 lines only for conclusion.
-I want you to argue that English will be one of many different global languages. That means there will be many global languages not only English and proof that with references. If you need more than 5 references, use more.
Please see the attached files about the unit :
-Study guide.
– TAKE-HOME EXAM MARKING SCHEME
-Please look at The Future of English in the study guide file
Start the argument by saying that through our Class discussion when all of my classmate said that English will not remain global language, and through my personal experience of
My Australian classmate that i have met in all different courses they are learning Chinese and Spanish, while their native language is English which is the global language today, but they feel the needs of learning other languages which means to me that there will be more than one global language for the foreseeable future.
Then, I want you to support this argument by references. You can say that some schools start to teach their students Chinese, Arabic or Spanish. Like South Africa will start teach Chinese to students (you may look at reference for this)Also, I want you to mention some thing from my personal experience when my sister, who is a teacher in private school on Saudi Arabia, said that her students speak French more fluently than English, and some private school in Saudi Arabia started teaching French as long with English. So, there will be more than 1 global language. Also, I have read that Chinese,Indian and Arabic will be global languages inn future so if you can find references that support which are the coming global languages it would be better .
