The assignment should seek to deliver on the following criteria;

Critically analyse the value of reflective and reflexive practice as a process for embedding continuing professional development [CPD] as part of organizational learning.
In developing an answer to this criterion you will need to explore and present the literature in the field of reflective/reflexive practice. There are a number of research papers in the resources guide which you can access which include work by Moon, Bolton, Hartog and Sambrook. Using extracts from your journal as evidence you can analyse the extent to which you are developing as a practitioner and whether you agree its value in terms of future CPD. The key to achieving the higher marks in this criterion is to critically analyse the research and apply the theory through your experience.
Develop an awareness of the current state of research into the fields of learning theory, HRD and organizational learning.
As part of the module you will have carried out research into these areas to help in designing the module. This part of the assignment is an opportunity to go beyond the research area you delivered on in the session and look at the broader issues for organisations. So how does the current thinking and research suggest organisations are promoting organisational learning and developing strategies for HRD? This part of the assignment helps in translating the research in the classroom into an organisational setting.
Critically evaluate the learning theories and methodologies which form the basis of the module.
This criterion required you analyse the learning theories that will be covered in session two and analyse in a critical way the validity of this methodology. You can use extracts from the journal to give ‘voice’ to how you experienced the start of the module. [ ‘how did you feel’] Were you sympathetic to the approach to learning and teaching or was it challenging, and if so why? How do you feel now and would you be an advocate and supporter of this approach in a work environment. If you are not convinced, why not and defend your arguments.

Shows evidence of new learning from experience (critical reflection and reflexivity) and the future actions required to apply new learning in an organizational context.
This is where the journal is the main source of evidence and where you can explore personal learning. How will you translate this experience [the module], working with others, developing new skills and capabilities and apply these in future.
Further guidance and advice on the writing of reflective journal writing will be provided in one of the taught sessions.

You are asked to keep a journal for the duration of the module. This should include a record of the following experiences:
 What it was like to be up front, how you experienced being responsible for the preparation, design, delivery & evaluation of your session?
 Which theories on group dynamics; team working; learning styles, leadership; power and conflict could be applied to help analyze the experience?
 What it was like working with your partners? Here you can use evidence from the peer assessment.
 What you would do the same / differently next time
 Records of key events & experiences during the course of the module;
 An individual critical reflective account of the experience of working on the research project;
 A focus on individual’s contribution and a personal evaluation of the individual’s and the group’s performance;
 An analysis and critique of the methodology employed on the module in the context of your experiences of learning during the sessions.
 Details of the actions you may take to apply new learning in the future.
