You must do this analysis by answering the specific questions listed below.

Section 1 : Give a brief summary about the article ( 1 page Summary ) – ( 3 marks )
Section 2: ( 8 marks )
1. What is the problem or question(s) this research concerns? You should be able to identify the central focus. If there are additional secondary problems, identify these too. (1-4 sentences).
2. What is the source of the data? (That is, questionnaire, intensive interview etc….) In some studies there are two or more sources of data. Give a brief overview of how the data were acquired. (2-5 sentences)
3. Briefly, what do the key findings turn out to be? (1-5 sentences)
4. Give the following information about the sampling procedures in outline form, saying “not given,” if it is not:
a. Definition of the population of theoretical or substantive interest; a) What is the population of theoretical or substantive interest; that is, to whom does the author seem to want to be able to generalize?
b. Geographic areas, organizational units (e.g. what state, University, county), or other primary sampling units and how these were chosen.
c. The sampling units (e.g. people, organizations, etc…).
d. Response rate (e.g., to a mailed survey) and sample size.
e. Does the author discuss any shortcoming in the sample or the sampling procedures? If so, what does s/he say?
5) Summarize any discussion by the author(s) of why this is a good measure or of what its problems are, including statistics done in the article.
6) Give your own evaluation of how good you think this article is, explaining your reasons.
SECTION 3: Overall Evaluation ( 5 marks)
1. Give your overall evaluation of the methods used in this article: what things were done well? what were done poorly? How much trust do you put in the findings? ( 2 Marks)
2. To sum up, what do you feel you’ve learned worth knowing from this article? (If your answer is “nothing”, explain why.) (Please note: this question is about the article and refers to the quality of information it contains.) ( 2 Marks)
3. Tell me anything you would like me to know about your experiences doing this analysis, or any suggestions you have for future revisions of this assignment. ( 1 Mark )
