In this last assignment, as a group we had to re-create our own study based on an original study which was “The facial feedback” where a person places a chopstick in there mouth to determine stress levels. We had 60 participants where nearly half showed their teeth with the pencil in their mouth and the other half had their teeth hidden. While performing this task, they had to complete 20 math questions (not so hard). After they completed the math task, we gave them a questionnaire of 10 questions asking them if they were stressed before and/or after the math task. I will forward all the necessary paperwork to you so that you can see this. I have a hard time explaining in my own words but all the paperwork will help you figure this out. We later talked about how maybe gender could be a factor. There’s an article you need to use where it talks about how math is a threat to women. That can be included in the discussion and results.
