Instructions:
Paper is to be 4 pages with a Works Cited page (being page 5). Use standard APA formatting
and break down the paper as follows:
Page One:
Identify an issue in social justice (not just a social issue, but a social justice issue. They are not
always the same. The issue you choose needs to be illustrative of an issue where there is
INJUSTICE. Describe the social justice issue you selected and illustrate what the injustice(s)
is(are) connected to that issue. (Statistics will help as well as any cited source. That means
research is necessary.)
Page Two and Three:
Using the “Social Analysis – A Tool for Examining Social Realities in Our Community” tool we
explored in class a few weeks ago (and that is available in “Modules” in Canvas), write one or
two good, solid, succinct paragraph(s) for four of the eight “systems” around your issue (e.g. the
Eight Factors identified on that handout). Include several quotes from outside sources to back up
what you are saying. Avoid using opinion here.
Page Four:
Find information about one advocate (someone who works towards eliminating the particular
social injustice you identified – could be a person and/or an organization) and provide
information about that organization. This should be someone/some organization that is
CURRENT (not a past historical figure like we examined in class).
Identify how you relate to issue.
