You have been asked to open an email from a customer which contains several drawings that are in a neutral format (DXF & IGES) – you will need to convert these drawing into a DWG format and plot them off.
A second customer has supplied two solid Models electronically which will also need to be converted into an AutoCAD format, this is to allow them to be processed via additive manufacturing or processed through a CAM system.
Plot/Print off the translated drawings to a suitable scale.
You have produced a solid model using solid works – using a suitable translation medium convert this into an AutoCAD solid model.
Update the modified blocks and load into a drawing.
You have been tasked with designing a factory layout using supplied blocks as well as blocks you have to modify and create.
Modified blocks to be created.
1 .2 Straight conveyors, one of 300mm in length and one of 900mm in length.
2 .Mori Seiki CNC Lathe – 2 new machines, the sizes are – length 350mm and width 250mm.
3 .1 additional IMT Vertical machining centre, new length 300mm and width 250mm
4 .1 additional Hydraulic Press new length 200mm and new width 200mm.
The size of the factory floor is 2250mm by 5000mm
The factory is to be laid out into 4 machining areas, you must arrange a suitable layout based on the machine configurations detailed below, All Machines in each area are to be linked using suitable conveyors.
Area 1- One Mori Seiki CNC lathe, One IMT Vert MC, One 1 press
Area 2- One Colchester transfer Machine, One press, One Mori Seiki CNC Lathe,
Area 3- One IMT Vert MC, One press, one Colchester transfer machine, One Mori Seiki CNC Lathe.
Area 4- 2 IMT Vert MC, 3 Mori Seiki CNC Lathes, One press.
