This is what happened today. You don’t have to use exactly what i say but is so you get an idea.
-This places breeds races horses. A nice man gave us a tour of the place, he showed us a newborn horse and explained us the 5 ways of their income (the one i remember is that They make the horses available for breeding to outside female that are not owned by the farm).
-The tour guy said we should remember 2 things: the first 1 is that no matter what month the horse is born, it will be 1 year old in january first even if it was born at the end of december. So you want to start the process on february because the pregnancy is 11 months. That way you don’t risk having it too at the end of the year. The second thing is that all race horses are conceived the natural way (not artificial insemination) and it is very expensive to bring your female horse to get pregnant.
-After this tour we went to a Q&A session with the members of the marketing and operation teams. The 2 ladies explained us the way the get to people, specially on social media (facebook, instagram, twitter) but each site has an approach for different people. For example, Twitter is more about posting updates of the horses they have and it is more for people who are involved in races or own horses. Facebook and Instagram is for the people who like to see nice pictures of the beautiful gardens they have, etc.
-61% of the people visiting the farm are from Ireland, (people also come fro the us, the uk and canada) they keep track of all this so they can learn about the places they come and adjust it to what they want to see.
-they just renewed their website
-they appeared in a magazine that costs 12,000 euros to appear in it. They mentioned it is important to know your budget and decide how to use it the best you can. This magazine is printed in different languages and it’s seen in different parts of the world.
-The place was beautiful, each male horse had his own big piece of land, the trees and flowers were breath taking, even though the purpose of this trip was to know more about marketing I also learned more about horses
(YOU CAN GO TO THEIR WEBSITE TO GET MORE INFORMATION. Mention what has made this company successful (minimum of 2 insights). They have great quality horses and a good history and reputation (you can see this on their website))
