This is for my ecology lab.I started on the essay Already also did the first 2 parts for excel.
I will attach all the files for this lab. Also a sample essay.
These are the steps for the labs.
Once you have a model of your system with reasonable parameter values, it’s time to use the model to understand how changes to the system will affect its ecology. This will be most interesting (and easiest to write about) if you consider real changes that may be occurring due to direct or indirect anthropogenic (i.e. human) influences, such as climate change, habitat loss, invasive species introductions, etc. Discuss with the instructor the most sensible way to translate the real change you’re interested in into changes in your model’s parameter values and/or initial conditions.
Collect data! The default spreadsheet, with graphs of population size against time, represents a snapshot of the ecology for a single given set of initial population sizes and parameter values. It is analogous to a single measurement that you took in the Microclimates lab. To investigate your model, create a second spreadsheet to record the values of the parameter changes you are investigating (from step 3 above) and the response variables you choose (most likely the species’ carrying capacities… but it could also be how long it takes to reach the carrying capacity or the degree of oscillation around the carrying capacity). Thus, you go back and forth, first changing the necessary parameter value(s) in the model and then recording the new parameter value and the resulting response variable(s) from the model on your data spreadsheet. For example, here is a snippet of a mock data sheet
