Task 2 – Individual Written Presentation 2000 Words-
Develop an effective business plan for launching a new product and obtaining financial and managerial support from potential backers. Explain the key issues that you would highlight and emphasise in a presentation of your business concepts including the questions that you would expect from potential investors and your considered answers to them. Students are also required to submit Ten power point slides of this business plan in the Appendix.
Assessment Criteria, word limit and the breakup of marks
1. Business description – The product/service being offered, rationale for the idea, background of the idea, nature of business envisaged, entrepreneurial characteristics of business and your characteristics as an entrepreneur
2. Business opportunity – You need to establish that opportunity for your idea exists in the market. To establish the same you need to present macro environmental analysis, industry analysis and market analysis
3. Marketing Plan – Marketing strategy, marketing mix, size of market and projected sales
4. Operations and Human Resources plan – Form of ownership, location of business, equipment, material, human resources that will be used, credentials of top management team including their roles and responsibilities, strategies to recruit, motivate and reward employees
5. Finance plan – starting funds required, source of funds, returns being offered, revenues, expenses, control of finance, break even analysis, balance sheet, P&L, Cash Flow statements
